MY THOUGHTS

I like the question-answer format of the book. It helps in making this a very easy book to read. The information presented is easy to understand. The author answers each question from Scripture rather than giving just an opinion.

Did The Devil Make Me Do It is packed with biblical information concerning the devil. The information the author presents is basic and to the mature Christian would be common knowledge. To a new babe in Christ this information is absolutely vital, not to scare but to prepare and equip them for their walk with Christ.

CONCLUSION

The title Did The Devil Make Me Do It is catchy. Mike McKinley concludes the book with an answer to that very question. I won't spoil it with the answer here.

We should be fully equipped as witnesses for Jesus Christ. This includes being able to answer questions about the devil and the realm of evil influence. This booklet could be useful as a tool for sharing the gospel.

Each chapter concludes with questions which will provoke deep thought both in the realm of the spirit and in the realm of the flesh. The book begins with the introduction to Queen Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab. A wealth of information unfolds as the true spirit of Jezebel, its activities, and its overall purpose are clearly exposed.

I applaud Steve Sampson for exposing the demonic forces working to affect all humanity who rejoice as they leave in their wake a trail of destruction. I was led to search my flesh as well as my spirit to see if I am being affected by the spirit of Jezebel. Reading and reflecting upon what I read, I understand why the author closes each chapter with prayer. Developing and strengthening the inner life is only done through prayer and meditation on truth in time spent alone with Almighty God. Without it we are powerless to confront the Jezebel spirit.

CONFRONTING THE SPIRIT OF JEZEBEL

The strongest weapon the enemy possesses and uses is the disbelief that the devil and his horde of demons exist. Steve Sampson exposes the truth about the spirit of Jezebel. He presents clear truth when one confronts the spirit of Jezebel. He offers hope that we all can be set free from the effects and the influence of this evil destroyer of souls. I highly recommend Confronting Jezebel, Discerning and Defeating the Spirit of Control to those desiring more knowledge and understanding of the spiritual realm.

Book Review: Spirit Wars by Kris Vallotton

How often do we take the spirit realm for granted, not giving it nary a second thought? We joke and say, "Well, the devil made me do it!" Is this really a joke? Is there really an enemy who is dead serious about destroying your life and your eternal soul?

The book, Spirit Wars, Winning the Invisible Battle Against Sin and the Enemy, is a book addressing the enemy and the horde of his forces which wage war against your life and your soul. Author, Kris Vallotton opens his heart and shares his life experiences in fighting the forces of the enemy of the soul.

I like the title the author gives to the second chapter of the book, Are You Living In A Haunted House? This question brings clearly to light the concept of the death of the "old man", the sin nature. it gets right to the heart of the saying, "the devil made me do it."

Spirit Wars, Winning the Invisible Battle Against Sin and the Enemy brings to mind Ephesians 6:12, "We are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world (Contemporary English Version)." Kris Vallotton exposes the deceptive work of the enemy and arms the Christian warrior with the knowledge needed to wage a victorious war against him.

The author writes in a manner which is very readable. He presents the many concepts, facts, plans, and weapons of this warfare so they are easily understandable. He even provides a chapter dealing with generational curses.

The realm of the spirit is a frightening place. Spirit Wars, Winning the Invisible Battle Against Sin and the Enemy will not alleviate the fear, but it will give the reader insight, encouragement, and knowledge of what must be done to withstand the deceptions, the traps, and the attacks of the enemy until we stand victorious with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I recommend this book to any interested in learning more about the spiritual realm.

Book Review: Ascent Into Darkness by Michael Leehan

Do evil spirits exist? Does the devil exist? Do these entities have real power? Is there really such things as good and evil? Is it possible for a human being to sense and operate under the influence of spiritual entities either good or evil? Though these questions are not answered directly in a yes or no manner, author and evangelist, Michael Leehan, goes far beyond simple yes or no answers in his book, “Ascent From Darkness, How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior.”

“Ascent From Darkness, How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior” is the autobiography of a man who made a conscious decision to serve and worship Satan. The book details the true story of Michael Leehan's descent into darkness, his enslavement by Satan, his possession by demonic spirits, the life and death struggle taking place in the spirit realm, and his redemption. The author admits from the beginning he is not a Bible scholar or a professional writer. Yet his passion for the spiritual flows freely throughout the book in its entirety.

I sat down with “Ascent From Darkness, How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior” on the day it arrived in the mail. I only intended to read the introduction, which in this book is the Acknowledgments and the Author's Note. The expressive honesty of the author, Michael Leehan in the Author's Note sunk its hook into me instantly. I did not stop reading until I reached the Epilogue!

Though the author admits to not being a professional writer, his writing style is very engaging and easy to read. His style adds to the ability of the book to open one's eyes to the realm of things spiritual. His experience in dealing with Christians while being a servant of Satan lends a realism to the words of 2Corinthians 11:14, “for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” Another eye-opener in the book is Michael Leehan's use of James 4:7. His exegesis of the verse while serving Satan is something every Christian should take very seriously.

I went to bed after the first reading of “Ascent From Darkness, How Satan's Soldier Became God's Warrior” pleading the blood of Jesus for protection. It is not that the book scared me. It is the stark reality that so much of modern Christianity takes this subject for granted, paying very little attention to it. We truly live in a very dangerous environment. I highly recommend this book as required reading for all Christians. It will have a profound impact on how and what you think of the spiritual realm.
